RECIPE: Crockpot EASY & CHEAP Chicken Tacos

This was a HUGE hit in my house, super easy, super fast...and this VERY busy mommy likes those things!!

Easy Chicken Tacos (Crock Pot)

6 Chicken Breasts (can put these in frozen)

2 cans of Rotel (original)

Onions (frozen is easy)

Green peppers (frozen is easy)

4 Packs of Taco Seasoning

Water

Put chicken (you can put it in frozen) in crock pot.

In a bowl, mix Rotel, onions, pepper, & seasoning, pour over chicken

Add 1 ¼ c of water to crock pot (pour down side so it doesn’t dilute the chicken sauce mixture)

Cook on low for 7-9 hours…do not open lid, and do not stir!!

Right before serving, shred chicken, stir well and serve.

Hard or soft shell tacos

Monterey jack cheese

Lettuce

This makes A LOT!!

You can half the recipe for a smaller amount, or freeze. Great for enchiladas too.

Abbreviations

OK...here are a couple abbreviations to remember.

$1/2 -One dollar off two items. The first number represents the discount and the second number indicates the quantity required to obtain that discount. (also i.e. $.50/2 .50 cents off two

BOGO (or B1G1) = Buy One Get One Free

B2G1 = Buy Two Get One Free

Blinkie = Coupon that you find on shelves in the SmartSource machine-usually has a blinking light.

Cat or Catalina. The coupons that print off with your receipt (usually from a machine directly beside the cash register)

CRT = Cash Register Tape (your receipt)

FLIP-Food Lion Internet Printable. Food Lion has weekly coupons that can be printed and can be used at Publix as a competitor coupon (if your store considers Food Lion a competitor)

Hangtag-coupon that is hanging from a tag around a bottle or jar.

IP = Internet Printable Coupon

MFR = manufacturer coupon

ONYO = On Your Next Order

OOP = Out of Pocket. The amount you actually spend.

Peelie = Coupon found on the package of a product that can be peeled.

PG = Proctor and Gamble another insert that comes in your local paper.

Q = Coupon

(RC) Rain Check = When a store is out of a sale item, many stores offer a rain check that allows you to get the sale price whenever the item comes back in stock and at your convenience. Each store has different policies on expiration date-this will usually be listed ON the rain check!

Tearpad -these are coupons that are on a tearpad usually located on a display or shelf near the item.

Officially a Saving Addict

So, It didn't begin today...but I am officially a coupon and money saving addict.

I got on board because these lean times have translated into me basically taking a pay cut this year. With a family of six (5 of which are MALES) I had to find a way to even out this potential loss and rising prices at the grocery store.

I figured I was a full-on addict when i started taking pictures of my deals...LOL

So..here I go.
